Who Am I
After owning dogs all through childhood; Chris began his professional career working at a busy doggy daycare centre in Banstead, Surrey, where he spent five years as a professional dog handler and van driver. During this time, he gained extensive hands-on experience managing structured group play, reading canine body language, and safely handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments.
After being offered a franchise opportunity, Chris instead chose to build his own independent dog care business. His aim was to create a small, high-quality service focused on genuine relationships, balanced pack dynamics, and helping each dogs and owners grow in confidence.
Following his move to Walthamstow, London, Chris successfully established a thriving dog walking and care business. Over the years, he has worked with a wide range of breeds and backgrounds, including rescue dogs from Romania, St Lucia, Bulgaria and Macedonia. He has supported dogs dealing with reactivity, anxiety, disabilities and complex behavioural needs, working patiently to build confidence and social skills in structured group environments.
Now based in Worthing, Chris is excited to build a small, structured dog walking community on the Sussex coast. After years of running a successful pack-based service in London, he’s looking forward to bringing the same calm, balanced approach to a new set of dogs.
Chris has extensive experience with high-energy and working breeds, including:
German Shepherds
Hungarian Vizslas
Weimaraners
Border Collies
Australian Shepherds
Leonbergers
Bernese Mountain Dogs
Rottweilers
Sighthounds
Golden Retrievers & Labradors
Spaniels
Pugs/French Bulldogs/English Bulldogs
and many more
He understands drive, strength, and the importance of calm, consistent leadership. At the same time, he works thoughtfully with smaller and more sensitive dogs, ensuring every member of the pack feels secure and included.
In addition to structured pack walks, Chris integrates everyday training into his sessions. Many of the dogs he works with learn practical skills such as middle position, spins, weaves, and reliable recall, eye contact, impulse control — not just as tricks, but as tools to build focus and engagement. Working in real-world environments allows him to support dogs dealing with anxiety or reactivity on a day-to-day basis, reinforcing calm behaviours and encouraging thoughtful choices.
Chris has completed the IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers) 3-day Career as a Dog Trainer course with Steve Mann and continues to study reactive dogs via canine principles, particularly around confidence building and reactivity. He is fully insured via protectivity and trained in canine first aid and DBS checked.
His philosophy is simple: calm handler, balanced pack, happy dogs.
